Pottermore at heart of Wizarding World news reveal
25 September 2015
The newly relaunched Pottermore.com has played a key role in a news reveal about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.
As ‘the digital heart of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World’, Pottermore.com helped to break the news that the play will be performed in two parts because of its epic storyline, following a tweet by J.K. Rowling. A news item posted on the evening of Thursday 24 September revealed the creative reasons behind the stage play being presented in two parts, and included exclusive interviews with its director John Tiffany, and its writer Jack Thorne.
Since its relaunch on 22 September, Pottermore has featured news, commentary and articles about the Harry Potter series and the wider Wizarding World, many written by the Pottermore Correspondent – a professional journalist hired by Pottermore especially for this role.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will open in London’s Palace Theatre in the summer of 2016.
