Ah, Comic Con. A weekend of some of the best cosplay you’ve ever seen, showstopping panels and all sorts of activities and surprises. Here are your Wizarding World updates from one of the biggest pop culture events of the year.

A Hogwarts fashion show

The wizarding community certainly have varied tastes when it comes to fashion – but you could never, ever call them boring. To celebrate some of Hogwarts’ greatest threads, Her Universe have created these new contemporary versions of classic outfits worn across the Harry Potter films, from Hermione’s Yule Ball dress to the Beauxbaton’s stylish blue, caped uniform.

Some Wizarding World panels, including...

Wizards Unite

The makers of the new AR game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite were out in full force to give a special Comic Con panel, with representatives from Niantic and WB Games present to talk about how the new game is going – and what we can expect from it in the future.

While Wizards Unite players are well aware of the various Foundables that the Calamity has caused within the game, from run-ins with Dementors to Death Eaters as expected, the team announced another deadly force on the way. Yep, it’s Hagrid’s favourite! Dragons. At the panel, the team revealed that different breeds of dragon, from the Common Welsh Green to the Antipodean Opaleye will start appearing in the game at the Wizards Unite fan festival in Indianapolis this September.

Other exciting developments coming soon include an ‘Adventure Sync’ mode of the game, which allows Wizards Unite players to keep track of their walking distance and progress without opening the game – so it all adds up.

Check out the Wizards Unite website for more updates from the panel.

... and Cursed Child!

From video games to the theatre – the team from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were also at Comic Con, representing the eighth Harry Potter story with a special, interactive panel. Yes, this included magic and illusion experts. Then came Nicholas Podany, who portrays Albus Potter on Broadway, joined by Jon Steiger, who will be playing Scorpius Malfoy in the upcoming San Francisco production.

We even had Nicholas steal our phones and take over the Pottermore social channels for the day. Here he is quizzing some Wizarding World fans on the streets of San Diego.

With the upcoming release of new behind-the-scenes book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey (you can check out the cover here), lucky fans got to have a sneak-peek at the new book during Comic Con at the Scholastic booth.
