J.K. Rowling’s international children’s charity, Lumos, is giving fans the chance to meet the cast on the set of the next film in the series.
Fans donating to a new Lumos fundraiser – which kicked off on Facebook Live and Twitter today – could get the chance to spend the day with stars of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, on the set of the next film in the series, currently being filmed at Leavesden Studios.
The winner and one guest will be flown to London, where they’ll get to meet members of the cast and crew of the film. On top of all that, the winner will be put up in a four-star hotel for three days and take home an additional prize of two tickets to Warner Bros Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter. Not bad.
Lumos have been working with crowdfunding platform CrowdRise to launch the new fundraiser. Lumos’ CEO, Georgette Mulheir, featured at the launch, speaking to Fantastic Beasts stars Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol, who play Jacob and Queenie in the film respectively.
Don’t worry if you don’t win the grand prize. Additional prizes are also available, including an original painting of Newt Scamander by artist Henry Fraser, which is signed by J.K. Rowling, Eddie Redmayne and other members of the cast.
Fans donating to Lumos will also have the chance to claim one of a number of limited-edition prints by MinaLima, a special Lumos t-shirt, which features J.K. Rowling’s inspirational quote from Very Good Lives, and even special hardcover editions of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay personally signed by the author herself.
Founded by J.K. Rowling, Lumos is a non-profit organisation which works to help disadvantaged children from all around the world leave orphanages and return to a family life. Any donation you make for Lumos will help one of an estimated eight million children across the world.
The opportunity to visit the movie set and these other prizes will be available to win until 20 September.
