Galleons at the ready. The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden will soon be unveiling a new addition to the Tour: the original set of Gringotts bank!

You may have spotted some mysterious clues popping up across Warner Bros. Studio Tour London’s social channels recently with the hashtag #UnlockTheMagic – and we can now reveal what on earth is going on: the tour will be expanding to include a new permanent addition, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, coming 6 April.

The Studio Tour, which already boasts an iconic Hogwarts model, the original Hogwarts Express, a huge Forbidden Forest set and so much more, has been busy restoring the authentic set of Diagon Alley’s goblin-run bank, along with a look behind the scenes at the goblins, vaults and treasures that lay within the bank seen across the Harry Potter films.

Gringotts plays a pivotal role in both the books and films – this is where Harry discovers his parents left him a sizeable amount of money, where the Philosopher’s Stone is initially kept, and in later books, where a crucial Horcrux lies that Harry, Ron and Hermione must stage an epic break-in to retrieve.

Now, visitors of the Studio Tour will be invited to walk through the film set of the grand marble-clad banking hall of Gringotts themselves, discover the costumes and prosthetics that went into characters such as Bogrod and Griphook, and learn all about the transformation that actors such as Warwick Davis went through to achieve their goblin makeovers.

After that, fans will get to enter the Lestrange vault, which featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Legendary film props will be on display, such as the Sword of Gryffindor and the Hufflepuff Cup, which was magically replicated 7,014 times during the scene where Harry, Ron and Hermione try to secure it, due to a curse put upon the item. And yes, of course, you’ll get the golden opportunity (get it? Because it’s a bank full of gold...) to get your very own Lestrange vault photo.

The new addition to the Tour is set to be a thrilling one, and you only have a few short months to wait before the expansion is revealed. Rest assured, we have not revealed all the surprises about this amazing new addition.
