Here’s your first look at the new role-playing mobile game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, coming in 2018.

The first trailer for Jam City’s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is here. This new game gives you the opportunity to experience life as a Hogwarts student! Yep, that means attending classes, learning spells, making friends (and enemies) and living your very own Hogwarts life. No pressure. Here is your first look at what to expect.

The mobile game – part of the new label Portkey Games, from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – will invite you to join Hogwarts in the 1980s, and will feature many of your favourite things from the Harry Potter stories. These include spells, classes, characters and much more. Although at this point Harry wouldn’t have been old enough to be at the school himself, we think you may recognise a few former students and staff – from Nymphadora Tonks to Bill Weasley to Professor McGonagall.

The role-playing experience will invite you to create your own personalised student avatar, and make key decisions that will impact your story. The trailer wisely reminds us of Dumbledore’s words: ‘It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.’

As the game continues, so will your Hogwarts education, your magical skills and relationships with other characters, so make sure to make every decision count. In other words – don’t choose a Crabbe and Goyle-style path, eh?

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available via the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore in 2018.
